EEN AVONTUUR VAN MENEER HOED

Een theatervoorstelling voor kinderen van 2 tot 6 jaar

Meneer Hoed is een slapstick-achtig typetje dat leeft tussen realiteit en fantasie. Hij is soms een beetje onhandig, maar niet bang voor nieuwe avonturen.

Meneer Hoed ontdekt steeds meer dozen op het toneel. En tot zijn verbazing bevatten de simpele dozen grote verrassingen. Zijn benadering gaat uit van de animistische gedachte dat voorwerpen een persoonlijkheid hebben. Een geloof dat sterk aanwezig is bij kinderen en duidelijk zichtbaar in de manier waarop ze spelen. Op deze manier ontstaat een emotionele betrokkenheid tussen het jonge publiek en het spel op het podium.

‘Doos’ is fysiek theater gemaakt in het kader van de proeftuin van het 2 Turven Hoog Festival. De uitvoerend artieste, Silvia Bennett, is in staat om met kleine bewegingen en komische fratsen zelfs het kleinste publiek te boeien.

DOOS

You are invited to go on an adventure with Mr. Hat, a curious, brave and child-like character who dives into imaginary worlds and captivates the audience with strange, exciting and funny escapades.

In his newest adventure, Mr. Hat’s imagination sees him diving into a simple cardboard box only to find wild weather, crazy creatures, a most unusual choir and a wonderful voyage through space.

Doos is a non-language based multidisciplinary performance for children and their parents.

The result of an ongoing international collaboration between a dancer , a lighting designer  and a composer , Doos offers a special sensory experience that leads the audience on a poetic and magical journey.

Determined to bring high level contemporary art to young audiences, the company cleverly weave accessible narratives and friendly characters together with more challenging and unusual abstract explorations.

Mr Hat was created in 2009 by Italian performer Silvia Bennett, as she started working for Memo Association. Silvia, Mr Hat and lots of happy children have been on many adventures since and as a result Silvia was invited to create a new piece for 2 Turven Hoog Festival in 2014.
